Mission Statement To establish a volunteer network of local medical and public health professionals which: -Is integrated into established community emergency systems for assistance during emergencies. -Provides mutual aide to other communities when called upon. -Offers consultation and education to the community.
Volunteer Duties MRC units are community-based and function as a way to locally organize and utilize volunteers who want to donate their time and expertise to prepare for and respond to emergencies and promote healthy living throughout the year. MRC volunteers supplement existing emergency and public health resources. 
Long term commitment of at least two years. There are no requirements. Great opportunity for pre-med students. There are many training programs offered through the Red Cross, online as well as special training from MRC. One is on-call at all times for when a disaster strikes.
